The Aesthetic department of the Hansen Clinic uses Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy to quickly and safely reverse the signs of aging and rejuvenate your skin. The SpectraPulse® Photofacial process produces the world’s most advanced pulsed light therapy. Targeted benefits include elimination of spider veins, disappearance of age-spots, reduction of wrinkles, correction of uneven skin discoloration, treatment of acne, and permanent hair reduction.
The SpectraPulse® Photofacial process delivers High Intensity Pulsed Light that is well absorbed in the dermis, or deep layer of the skin. The patented broad wavelength pulsed light process rejuvenates the skin and stimulates new collagen production without creating side effects that can be caused by more concentrated single wavelength lasers. The SpectraPulse® Photofacial is so gentle and quick that it can literally be done on a lunch break and have you back to work looking and feeling younger in less than an hour.

In addition to the Photofacial therapy, the SpectraPulse® process can also be used on the neck, chest, arms and hands to remove unsightly pigments, discoloration, and spider veins and to stimulate the production of healthy new collagen deep within the dermis of the skin in order to restore your youthful skin tone and supple texture in these areas as well.
Treating a pigmented lesion with the pulsed light results in heating the melanin. The damaged lesion is then naturally sloughed as the skin exfoliates. Similar results are seen in the treatment of vascular lesions. The absorption of the light in hemoglobin and the resultant thermal action inside the blood vessels causes coagulation, vasoconstriction, and disappearance of any unsightly blood vessels.
The heat-stimulated dermis releases chemical signals that induce the formation of healthy new collagen and elastin. Increased collagen production ultimately reduces fine lines, fills in wrinkles in the face and neck, and reduces pore size, while elastin restores the supple elasticity to the skin producing softer, smoother younger looking skin.
