Prepare Your Immune System!
The CDC now reports that it expects eventual community spread of coronavirus in the US. During a Feb. 25, 2020, telebriefing with reporters, Nancy Messonnier, MD, director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the CDC, said “The data over the last week and the spread in other countries has certainly raised our level of concern and raised our level of expectation that we are going to have community spread here.”
CDC is reporting that since the first outbreak of respiratory disease caused by the novel coronavirus on December 21, 2019, in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China, it has now infected 81,000 people and killed 2,764, and has been detected in 37 countries, including 57 cases in the United States. The virus has been named “SARS-CoV-2” and the disease it causes has been named “coronavirus disease 2019” (abbreviated “COVID-19”).
Dr. Messonnier reiterated that at this time there are no vaccines and no medicines to treat the coronavirus. She stressed the need to adhere to nonpharmaceutical interventions (NPIs), as they will be “the most important tools in our response to this virus.”
How to Boost Your Immune Resistance?
It is important to note that the current Case / Fatality Rate or Death Rate from COVID-19 is only 2-3%, which means that 97-98% of all infected individual do NOT suffer life threatening complications. For most people, the chief symptoms look like a mild cold or flu, with fever, malaise and cough. More serious cases or more weakened individuals, including individuals with diabetes and heart disease are more likely to develop complications, including shortness of breath. Most deaths due to coronavirus are caused by acute respiratory distress and pneumonia.
The most effective treatment for preventing the most serious consequences of the Coronavirus is the supplementation of Vitamin A. Although the CDC and Public Health Officials never seem to mention this simple remedy, it has been used with astounding benefits around the world in treating other highly infectious viruses, including Measles.
Naturopathic Physicians, as well as The World Health Organization and the CDC actually recommend Vitamin A for all children exposed to or infected with Measles virus, regardless of their country of residence, to reduce the risk of pneumonia and complications with the immune system. Taking 200,000 IU of Vitamin A daily for two consecutive days has been shown to be associated with a 82% reduction in the risk of death from the measles virus in children under the age of two years (RR 0.18; 95% CI 0.03 to 0.61) and a 67% reduction in the risk of pneumonia-specific mortality (RR 0.33; 95% CI 0.08 to 0.92). It can provide the same benefit for adults and similarly boost immune enhancement and protection for all viruses that affect the upper respiratory tract, including coronavirus (COVID-19).
Vitamin A comes in a maximum dose of 25,000iu per capsule, which should be administered in the following dose by age for 2 days:
- Infants aged <6 months: 50,000iu total per day (1-25,000iu capsule twice daily for 2 days only)
- Infants ages 6–11 months: 100,000iu total per day (2-25,000iu capsules twice daily for 2 days only)
- Children aged ≥12 months 200,000iu total per day (4-25,000iu capsules twice daily for 2 days only)
- Adults: 200,000iu total per day (4-25,000iu capsules twice daily for 2 days only)
- Pregnant women should NOT take more than 2,500 IU of Vitamin A per day

Should You Wait for a Coronavirus Vaccine?
Anthony S. Fauci, MD, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease at the National Institutes of Health, said that a vaccine is in progress but would not be ready for at least 12 – 18 months following the completion of a phase 2 trial later this year.
Vitamin A is Better than a Vaccine
If the U.S. Health Department would institute “Mass Vitamin A Programs” instead of “Mass Vaccination Programs,” the death toll from the Corona Virus could likely be reduced by 82% as has been the case with Measles. If this one simple program had been instituted instead of vaccinations, it would have protected 99.997% of the population from dying from Measles and allowed everyone else to acquire permanent immunity, which moms could then pass on to their newborn babies to protect them and Measles would still be a common, mild infection that would occur only in children between the ages of 5-15 years. Using Vitamin A to prevent the spread and harm that could be caused by the new Coronavirus is one of nature’s best solutions.

Elderberry, Echinacea and Andrographis
